- SATURN OBSERVATION CAMPAIGN We are participating as a part of the world!
O.C is a special project of JPL, which is one of the very rare projects of JPL since its international and includes both amateurs and professionals in order to share public information about this lovely planet and as well as to give the light to Cassini space mission which is since 1997 orbiting around this planet and has sent a lot of fascinating photos of Saturn and it's moons.
At the first, Iraq was not mentioned in the list of participants but after contacting Jane Huston, in charge of foreign affairs JPL, and explaining that for her, Jane said that during the design of the website in 1997, there was not a y kind of diplomatic relationships with Iraq but now a days is a totally different story, eventually she added Iraq to the list.
- AAAK became a front picture of S.P.O.C. in Iraq
UNESCO and IAU have announced 2009 as international year in the 400th anniversary of the Galileo's invention of the telescope, and for this purpose countless activities will be held whole over the world in order to remind people their location in the universe supported by UNESCO and IAU.
Dr. Rojgar Hamid has been choose as SPOC for 2009 and AAAK was the front picture of SPOC for all over Iraq which is a good stimulating factor for AAAK to start and think of new activities.

the effect of zodiac on youths and women is a very old issue and since ever human has a desire to join his life event with illogical ideas in order to create reasons for unexplainable matters, on the other hand astronomy and modern social science have a quite different vision to this issue.
- Scientific supporting and helping
After contacting AAAK, Azhy Chato has visited Faxir Mergasuri high school ,Mr. Aso who is teacher of physics received Azhy warmly in a duration of 1 hour Azhy has installed astronomical equipments that have been donated by Korean army to this school which includes "three 3" telescopes, planetarium and hundred posters of deep sky photos", and it was clear that two of these telescopes have got rusted because of un-appropriate storage, after that Azhy gave a presentation about how to use telescope and how to choose a suitable lens for your observation in order for the student to get as much benefit as possible from these equipments and Azhy showed the readiness for any kind of help that could possibly help students for preparing any astronomical project in this well known center in Erbil.
- A trip for Bahdinan region
in order to increase the border of AAAK's activities and introducing AAAK to northern region of Kurdistan, An AAAK crew arrived to Chra village in Goranaty territory for two day trip, the aim of this trip was to introduce AAAk and astronomy to a group of youths on 7th February.
Under AWB's definition AAAk started a process for introduction among AWB affiliates. The first answer was from Debora Stanly the head of Astronomy Adventures organization in New Zeeland. Deborah is one of most active and famous amateur astronomers in New Zeeland and he showed his gratefulness in participating in such a scientific relationship.
First astronomical website for Kurdish astronomers
one of the most important steps that has been achieved by AAAK this month was the announcement of a very lovely website on internet, www.kurdastros.org is a reflection of AAAK activities as well as scientific news all over the world, you can download a monthly report of AAAK for free there, it's available in three languages English, Arabic and of course Kurdish language.

- College of Arts and Education in Duhok University, A special interest and an interesting cooperation!
After AAAK's introducing trip for Duhok university, we received an invitation letter from college of science and college of arts in university, a team from AAAK has arrived Duhok on, and in the first AAAK was the staff who took part in their activities and AAAk staff has presented a seminar over there which was totally expected after all these resections that have been shown to AAAK team by university professors.
- Saturn and Cassini in a scientific seminar
After AAAK's request to present a seminar, college of engineering presidency has accepted the request warmly and it showed it's readiness for any kind of help, the seminar was about newest astronomical discoveries and at the same time it was a very nice chance to explain the latest discoveries of Cassini space craft since JPL has announced Saturn observation campaign for amateurs and professional all over the world.
- 2nd Saturn Observation Campaign People have been invited this time to looking at the charmed planet!
it's seems that Saturn started to set down and it will be visible until August ,this is why It's better to use this duration for observing Saturn before we choose the chance for that. on 11thMarch January, after contacting the presidency of college of science, a seminar was presented about Saturn and Cassini mission, all the attendances of students showed a huge interest to Saturn and Cassini mission and a lot of questions have been arise from their minds.

The first series of AAAK's project for publishing astronomical books
One of the AAAK's futures is to publish magazines and books on the modest budget of AAAK! The first step has been taken by OBSERVING NIGHTSKY by Mr.Rojgar Hamid which became first book explaining sky, moon, sun, stars and it's constellations in detail in Kurdish language.

AAAK logo has been shown on the official website of Astronomer's without borders as a featured affiliate, it's been hanged there for more than 3 months, and Mike Simmons the president of AWB has written a short article about AAAK and its latest activities in Kurdistan.
